So open question asked on the KS in regards to a coop mode in which two players share building a city. I though about this and think I could see a problem. While I like the idea of building a city with a friend unless we can divide the villagers up it could cause AI issues. Say my friend and I divide up some tasks, I take farming and he takes building a house.

It's "local" in the sense of Local Area Network (LAN) games, and co-op in the sense that multiple players in the same world are automatically allied (separate towns, inventories, own hearthlings to control etc.) and are free to work together or build entirely separate towns; but there's nothing like couch co-op/splitscreen mode.

How is the co-op? I'm looking for a basebuilder to play with my gf and this game seems to tick all the boxes. My only concern is the performance issues that I've been hearing about, especially when you have more than 20 hearthlings. It seems like this problem will be compounded in multiplayer. The local coop just means you can play with a friend, but you would need to fiddle around with some files if you want trully offline lan game.
